Brett Layne
Brett Layne holds a Baccalaureate in Fine Artistry from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Mr. Layne is an interdisciplinary artist experienced in the study and practice of fine art photography, visual and critical studies, archival chromogenic and monochrome photographic developing, multimedia printing and painting techniques in various pigment media. During his study, he was invited by heads of academia to share his work in exhibitions and publications. His early work is part of many private collections.
At a young age, Mr. Layne was offered a teaching position where he conducted critiques and offered professional guidance to undergraduates studying fine art. Brett was the recipient of a highly regarded fellowship from the Art Institute of Chicago. He has spent years traveling the United States, creating beautiful artwork for countless families and organizations.
Mr. Layne’s current work decorates the homes of many distinguished families of the Washington Metropolitan area. He prides himself in capturing the best of his subjects, painstakingly reflecting on every detail and personal connection, and sharing that gift by creating beautiful objects of significance for his clients. Brett has created artwork for many notable business people, political officials, local celebrities and members of four White House administrations. Mr. Layne even holds a commission for The Supreme Court of The United States in his artistic repertoire. The work he has created with The Lubin Portrait Studio remains recorded in the National Archive Collection of the United States.
Mr. Layne has been creating and finishing pieces with Mr. Lubin for many years. Jeff Lubin is his longstanding professional mentor. Brett's years alongside Mr. Lubin led to his mastery of the studio's coveted, timeless style of creating fine art portraiture. Mr. Layne has been bestowed with the honor of serving as the chief artistic director, and creator of The Lubin Portrait Studio.
